Michelle

Updated: Jan 15, 2022

It was a dark and stormy Wednesday night when we met up with Michelle at her favorite drinking spot – Tacos, Tortas & Tequila in downtown Silver Spring. The plan was to remain at the upstairs bar until Michelle found out that she could only order a cheese taco downstairs.  We immediately relocated to the downstairs bar where Michelle ordered a Pacifico, to go with 2 cheese tacos and some chips and salsa.

Asa was our bartender downstairs and he and Michelle seemed to know each other very well.  She must really be a frequent flier here, I thought to myself.  I later found out that they met back in 2008 when he bartended at the Barking Dog in Bethesda.  Asa told us about how he found a kitten behind a dumpster at a Chipotle, which prompted us to discuss how Michelle feels about pets.  Michelle grew up without any pets in her home.  She would love to have a dog but she knows she’s not home enough to own one.  Ideally, she wants a dog to just show up at her doorstep through some sort of divine intervention.

The morning before this Drunken Portraits session, Michelle did a brief shop through H&M and found a cute, soft, white sweater that would be perfect for the photos that night.

Michelle works for a local communications company, readying shows for air in other countries with very different cultural sensitivities. One of her most memorable work experiences is when she had to provide the definition of MILF to a coworker in Asia.  Rather than type out the definition, she thought she should google it and provide them with a link instead. (Probably not the best idea at work in hindsight). Thank goodness for Urban Dictionary.

As the night was coming to a close, we hoped it was safe to exit the bar as the flashing police lights that had started hours earlier were still flashing at the metro across the street.  Just another metro stabbing.
